About us.... Flower-Photos.co.uk began in 2001 as an ever growing source of royalty free and rights managed licenced stock photography and photos of flowers, plants, gardens, garden and gardening themes, home and garden lifestyles, indoor plants and floristry themes including exotic flowers. With many photo stock libraries charging rates where many small to medium size businesses and many designers simply found it cost prohibitive. There was an ever growing volume of 'microstock' libraries emerging, offering photos at £0.50 / $1.00 a piece, but are or tend to be inferior quality and many taken by amature photographers given that all of a sudden with the emergence of digital cameras producing reasonable images and the cameras becoming within the reach of most people, everybody seemed to have turned professional photographer! The main problems with using microstock libraries was and is, that nobody is really sure if the photos belong to the 'photographer' who submits them to the library, the quality is mostly not high enough for print (although usually good enough for web) and with the price being so low, the same image may well be used by a dozen or more different businesses at the same time... in some cases perhaps, even a competitor!
